India Payroll – Manager
Role Expectations
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery and legislative compliance to local labour laws and statutory requirements for assigned clients
• Manage Performance and outputs of team members as and when assigned
• Ensure that systems and processes correctly compute and record time, earnings, employee benefits, special deductions, mandated benefits, taxes, garnishments, and other items that affect net pay and/or company liability
• Ensure queries are attended and clarified from the HR mailbox and closing HR tickets within stipulated timeline.
• Ensure all payroll related data are handled in accordance to the company’s guideline for confidential data handing process
• Confirm general ledger accuracy and mapping for all pay elements.
• Assist with internal and external Payroll audits
• Assist with acquisitions by working with Human Resources and Business leads to facilitate change/integration • Participate in payroll projects or change requests to improve the current processes and communication and payroll process flow.
• Strong customer-focus, results orientation, attention to detail
• Utilise relevant reporting tools to maximize efficiency of processes, accuracy of data and to develop
Responsibilities
• Apply process knowledge to eliminate manual processes and reduce overall processing time.
• Produce analytics to improve overall efficiency.
• Process end to end payroll for each client as per SLA
• Partner with the client HR Operations teams & other internal customers to ensure effective processes and issue resolution
• Adhere and ensure adherence to defined service level agreements and statutory requirements, ensuring accurate payment every month.
• Complete quality checks for accuracy by establishing accuracy standards expected
• Review performance and instil a culture of continuous improvement and outstanding customer service
• Ensure appropriate workload allocation, & sharing of knowledge
• Seek feedback from customers and respond to any compliments, concerns,complaints
• Work with the HR and Payroll Service Delivery Manager on opportunities to develop the service offer and identify/pursue additional opportunities to expand the service
Competencies
• Thorough and updated knowledge on local labour laws and statutory requirements of India
• Influencing Skills – Good working relationship with payroll clients and stakeholders
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Strong analytical, organization and planning skills
• Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate multiple projects to timely completion
