Role Expectations

• Prepare the monthly payroll for approval

• Prepare and/or update the various changes for the employee pay affecting payroll on a monthly basis according to company policy and proper approval level

• Prepare and submit tax and third party payments

• Accurately process payroll for all employees including timesheet verification & tax setup

• Process employee changes including new hires, reviews, status changes, transfers and terminations

• Compute wages and deductions, and enter data into computers

• Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to m maintain and update payroll records

• Process payroll cycles for time worked, overtime, and miscellaneous pay types

• Maintain vacation and other time off data and enter into payroll system

• Answer employee questions, investigate and correct discrepancies

Responsibilities

• Providing information and answering Tier 1 queries related to payroll inputs

• Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions.

• Preparing and issuing earnings statements.

• Maintaining employee records.

• Coordinating with the HR department to ensure correct employee data.

Competencies

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge of payroll processes including data entry, pay calculations, tax and benefits

• Experience in processing Payroll using AscentHR payroll software

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programs.

• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Good time management and organizational skills.

• Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations.

• Able to handle volumes, prioritize and multitask effectively.

• 3-4 years of experience working in a payroll office.
