The Code on Social Security (Gujarat) (Amendment) Rules, 2026

The Government of Gujarat, vide notification No. GR/2026/14/PGA/172021/24659/M3, dated 13th February 2026, has made further amendments to the Code on Social Security (Gujarat) Rules, 2023.
As a result of this amendment, in accordance with the Code on Social Security, 2020, the state government has decreased the required service period for fixed-term employees to qualify for gratuity from five years to one year. Additionally, provisions concerning the deposit of funeral expenses for employees who have suffered fatal injuries leading to death have been included, among other changes.
