Permission to employ women during the night shift

As per Section 22 of The Rajasthan Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958, no women shall be required or allowed to work in any establishment during the night shift (7 pm to 6 am).

The government of Rajasthan, vide notification dated 20th June 2024, has granted an exemption from the above condition for a period of three years and allowed all the registered shops and commercial establishments in Rajasthan to employ women during the night shift, subject to certain conditions.
