The General Election to 12 Zilla Parishads and 125 Panchayat Samiti under them in the State of Maharashtra is scheduled to be held on 7th February 2026 (Saturday).
In light of this, the Government of Maharashtra, vide circular dated 30th January 2026, has declared a paid holiday on the polling day for all employees who are voters in this election and are employed in various private organisations in Maharashtra.
Furthermore, it has been clarified that workers, officers, and employees who are registered voters in the constituency where the election is taking place, even if they are employed outside that constituency, are entitled to a paid holiday on Election Day to ensure they can exercise their voting rights.
