The Government of Madhya Pradesh, vide notification dated 11th September 2025, has amended the Madhya Pradesh Shops and Establishments Act, 1958, and thereby revised the maximum overtime limit from six (6) hours a week to one hundred and forty-four (144) hours a quarter.
The revised overtime limit shall be applicable to:
• Shops and Commercial establishments
• Residential hotels, restaurants and eating houses
• Theatres or other places of public amusement or entertainment
