Karnataka Compulsory Gratuity Insurance Rules, 2024

The Government of Karnataka, through a notification dated July 4th, 2024, has extended the time period for obtaining a gratuity insurance policy from “sixty days” to “six months” for establishments that were in existence at the time of the commencement of the Karnataka Compulsory Gratuity Insurance Rules, 2024 (i.e., January 10th, 2024). 

The notification has replaced the term “sixty days” with “six months” under sub-rule (2) of Rule 3 of the Karnataka Compulsory Gratuity Insurance Rules, 2024. 

Based on this notification, the revised deadline for obtaining a gratuity insurance policy for establishments existing at the time of the commencement of the Karnataka Compulsory Gratuity Insurance Rules, 2024 will be July 10th, 2024.
