Joint Declaration filing by the employer – 150724

This is in addition to the alert shared by AscentHR on 11th September 2023 (click here to access), in which the employer/member was allowed to update the request for profile correction on the EPFO portal via UAN member login.

EPFO has now enabled a similar option for employers to update the request for profile correction for their employees/members. While the process remains the same from a data update and document upload perspective, it is important to update the documents with the employee/member attestation on the PF portal. This document attestation is similar for employees/members updating on the EPFO portal through their member UAN login. Providing this option to the employer in such scenarios would help the employee/member. In addition, it would also avoid hard copy movement filing.

The above is a welcome module introduced by the EPFO. An employee/member whose UAN member login has an issue and is not able to log into the member UAN portal has to submit hard copies of the documents.

EPFO has yet to notify this. The option on the PF portal is available to update the profile correction of the employee/member through employer login. It is recommended that the respective employer applies for their employees, either active or inactive

Employers can now submit joint declarations for their employees / ex-employees who do not have UAN / are unable to log into the member UAN portal on account of aadhaar seeding. Employer can exercise the option of joint declaration correction through the PF number (member PF ID)

The employer will take adequate precautions when updating this data and documents. The approval process from the employer would be through e-Sign.
