EPFO releases FAQs on implementation of pension on higher wages

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, vide internal circular no. e-399180/2543, dated 13th December, 2023, has released certain FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) for the implementation of the judgement of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India regarding pension on higher wages.  

The content of the FAQs provides clarification on joint option to be submitted under Para 26(6) of the Employees’ Provident Funds Scheme, 1952, and the computation of pension basis date of commencement of the pension. The circular also contains an annexure which is for joint option under para 26(6) of the Employees’ Provident Funds Scheme, 1952.

These are guidelines for the regional offices for processing applications of pension on higher wages and disbursements of pension benefits.
