The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, in its effort to facilitate speedy settlement of the claims filed online, and to reduce the rejection of claims due to the reason of non-uploading of images of cheque leaves/attested bank passbooks while filing claims online, has decided to eliminate the requirement of uploading image of cheque leaf/ attested bank passbook at the time of filing a claim. However, to avail of this facility, the bank account seeded with UAN should be validated by the concerned bank/NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India).
Furthermore, it has also been decided to stop requiring employer approval in the bank account seeding process. All the requests pending for bank KYC seeding at the employer level will be auto-approved following the verification process from the Bank/NPCI.
This move of the EPFO will be a major relief for all employees and will significantly reduce grievances related to claim rejection.
