Draft notifications on various labour enactments

The Government of Karnataka, vide notification no. LD 2019 LET 2023, dated 16^thOctober 2024, has published draft notifications on amendments to various labour enactments, for the information of the persons likely to be affected thereby and to provide an opportunity for the concerned persons to file objections and suggestions, if any, against the amendments within the stipulated time period.

Following are the enactments which shall be amended, if the said notifications come into effect:

1. The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Karnataka) Rules, 1974
2. The Plantations Labour (Karnataka) Rules, 1956
3. The Karnataka Motors Transport Workers Rules, 1964
4. The Building and Other Construction Workers’ (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) (Karnataka) Rules, 2006
5. The Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Rules, 1963
6. The Inter-state Migrant Workers (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) (Karnataka) Rules, 1981
7. The Beedi and Cigar Workers (Conditions of Employment) (Karnataka) Rules, 1969
8. The Karnataka Trade Unions Regulations, 1958

The primary objective of the amendments is to revise the applicable registration fees under the above enactments.
