Change in polling date

The Election Commission of India had earlier fixed the date of polling for the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Haryana – 2024 as 1^st October 2024 (Tuesday). Accordingly, the Government of Haryana had declared 1^st October 2024, a paid holiday for eligible employees working in Shops and Commercial Establishments in Haryana. We circulated an alert on the same on 30^th August 2024.

Now, the Election Commission of India, vide notification no. ECI/PN/132/2024, dated 31^st August 2024, has revised the date of polling in Haryana from 1^st October 2024 to 5^th October 2024 (Saturday). Hence, a revised notification regarding the election holiday from the Government of Haryana/ the Labour Department is awaited.
