Integrating Disparate Systems
Overview
Facing integration challenges with independently designed systems, AscentHR’s strategy unified legacy systems, enhancing process synergy, integration reliability, and user-friendliness for the client, resulting in seamless, cohesive operations.
Our Client
Our client is a prominent player in the global aluminum and copper industry. They are known for their extensive production and distribution network.
AscentHR developed a cohesive system integration plan that enabled seamless data transfer, integration, and processing significantly improving efficiency and turnaround times.
Challenges
The client with multiple business entities and numerous HRMS and ERP applications was finding it challenging to source payroll data and inputs from multiple disparate systems that were not integrated.
-
Difficulty in integrating payroll data from disparate HRMS platforms and multiple data sources.
-
Mismatched records, and latent inconsistency in data sourcing and integration made the payroll processing inefficient and unfeasible.
-
Analyzing multiple inputs for the same record, managing time and attendance, migrating employee data from the legacy applications to a centralized payroll platform was complex.
-
Routine functions such as approving CTC break-up structures, and processing full and final settlements across the company’s entities were cumbersome.
Solution
AscentHR proposed to stitch the disparate applications together into one unified, end-to-end solution that would capture all pertinent payroll information.
Our system integration strategy integrated existing disparate systems to ultimately deliver exponential value additions by reducing operational costs and improving response time.
We used Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tools for retrieving the right data in the right format for payroll processing.
Complex data flows were aligned with the movement of employees within the client’s subsidiary entities, while ensuring data sanctity and error-free transfers.
Outcomes
The outcomes from the engagement were:
-
Unified solution: Implemented an end-to-end solution that would capture all the payroll data from disparate applications.
-
Zero mismatched records: An online data capturing mechanisms was implemented. Data was captured on a periodic basis for tracking errors.
-
Enhanced data transfer: Custom designed a secure integration interface built with AES-256 bit encryption. The outcome was speedy, secure and reliable data transfer through web-based application programming interfaces (APIs).
-
Enhanced operational efficiency: As a result of the enhanced efficiency in payroll operations, other payroll-related HR tasks pertaining to employee onboarding and separation became significantly simpler.
Conclusion
AscentHR customized a systems integration solution that reduced the total cost of ownership for the client, while incrementally increasing reuse and flexibility; simultaneously offering duplication-free and error-free data conversion. This augmented the client’s business readiness, and drastically cut time-to-market and fixed costs.
