Uttar Pradesh Factories (Seventy-Fifth Amendment) Rules, 2025

The Government of Uttar Pradesh, vide notification no. 963/XXXVI-03-2025-1792147,dated 4th July 2025, has amended the Uttar Pradesh Factories Rules, 1950, thereby permitting the employment of women in certain hazardous processes in Factories, subject to the following conditions concerning the safety and welfare of the women employees:

1. Written consent of the woman employee to work in such hazardous process shall be obtained.

2. The occupier shall adopt international safety standards for providing Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).

3. The occupier shall, as far as possible, modernise the processes/places from time to time and will use modern equipment.

4. Pregnant and breastfeeding women shall not be employed or permitted to work in such hazardous processes.
