Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026

The Government of Andhra Pradesh, vide notification no. G.O.Rt.No-146, dated 7th August 2026, has issued the final state Rules in accordance with the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020. These Rules shall be referred to as the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026, and will revoke the state Rules established under the following legislations:
1. The Beedi and Cigar Workers (Conditions of Employment) Act, 1966
2. The Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996.
3. The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970.
4. The Dock Workers (Safety, Health and Welfare) Act, 1986.
5. The Factories Act, 1948.
6. The Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979.
7. The Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961.
8. The Plantation Labour Act, 1951.
With the completion of the Rules under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, Andhra Pradesh has become the fourth state to finalise state Rules under all four Labour Codes, following Gujarat, Bihar, and Arunachal Pradesh.
