Maharashtra Election holiday

The General Election for 29 Municipal Corporations in Maharashtra is set to take place on 15th January 2026 (Thursday).
In light of this, the Government of Maharashtra, vide circular dated 30th December 2025, has declared a paid holiday on the polling day for all employees who are voters in this election and are employed in various private organisations in Maharashtra.
Furthermore, it has been clarified that workers, officers, and employees who are registered voters in the constituency where the election is taking place, even if they are employed outside of that constituency, are entitled to a paid holiday on Election Day to ensure they can exercise their voting rights.
