Madhya Pradesh Labour Laws (Amendment) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 2025

The Government of Madhya Pradesh, vide notification dated 27TH November 2025, has implemented certain amendments to various Labour Laws as detailed as follows:

Amendment to the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, in its application to Madhya Pradesh:
The threshold limit for the applicability of the Act has been revised from “twenty or more workmen” to “fifty or more workmen”.

Amendment to the Factories Act, 1948 in its applicability to Madhya Pradesh:
The threshold limit for the applicability of the Act has been revised as follows:
• With the aid of power: “twenty or more workers”
• Without the aid of power: “forty or more workers”

Amendment to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, in its applicability to Madhya Pradesh:
The provisions concerning the “Prohibition of strikes and lock-outs”, which were previously applicable only to public utility services, will now also apply to industrial establishments.
