Increase in the annual PT for salaried persons

The Government of Karnataka, vide notification no. DPAL 08 SHASANA 2025, BENGALURU, dated 15^th April 2025, has amended the Karnataka Tax on Profession, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1976, thereby increasing the Professional Tax payable by salaried persons, effective from 1^st April 2025.

Accordingly, the Professional Tax payable for a financial year by salaried persons who are drawing salary equal to or more than Rs. 25000/- per month shall be Rs. 2500/-. Earlier, the same was Rs. 2400/-. The said tax of Rs. 2500/- shall be paid by the employer on behalf of the employee every month after deducting the same from the salary of the respective employee.
