EPFO’s drive to make completion of e-nomination mandatory

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, Bengaluru Central, has published a circular regarding the filing and completion of online e-nominations by EPF and EPS members. The EPFO has referred to Para 33 and 34 of the EPF Scheme along with the Para 61. Para 33 states about nomination from the employee, and Para 34 speaks about obtaining of declaration from the employee regarding previous membership of the fund.

Enclosed is the notification and the extract of Para 33, 34 and 61.

It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure their employees complete the nomination form within 15 days from the date of joining. Enclosed is Para 36, which states about the employer’s responsibility with respect to the above forms.

Notification also calls for obtaining a copy of the completed nomination along with Form 11. This is being clarified with the department, as filing of e-nomination is only possible once the UAN is created in the current establishment.
