Election holiday – Kerala – Dec 2025

The General Elections to the Local Self Governments in Kerala are set to take place in two phases: on the 9th of December 2025 and the 11th of December 2025.
In light of this election, the Government of Kerala, through G.O.(Rt)No.5209/2025/GAD, dated 2nd December 2025, has announced a paid holiday for all employees working in any commercial, trading, industrial, or other private sector establishments who are eligible to vote in the election.
The holiday is designated as follows:
• On the 9th of December 2025 (Tuesday), a holiday is declared for the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam.
• On the 11th of December 2025 (Thursday), a holiday is declared for the districts of Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod.
