Code on Wages (Bihar) Rules, 2025

Following the enactment of the Code on Wages, 2019 (Central), which is set to take effect on 21st November 2025, the Government of Bihar, through a notification dated 5th December 2025, has released a draft concerning the Code on Wages (Bihar) Rules, 2025. These Rules, once implemented, will replace the following:
• Bihar Payment of Wages Rules, 1937
• Bihar Minimum Wages Rules, 1951.
The aforementioned draft notification will be reviewed after a period of forty-five days from the date of its publication. Any objections or suggestions may be directed to the Labour Commissioner, Bihar, or sent via email to lcbihar@bihar.gov.in.
