Bulk upload of Aadhaar details for employers

The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), a division of the Ministry of Labour, has recently introduced a bulk upload module for employers to facilitate the uploading of Aadhaar details on the ESIC portal. This new feature, launched in the first week of July 2024, allows employers to log in and follow the process outlined in the bulk Aadhaar seeding facility process flow, which is enclosed for your reference.

This initiative ensures that Aadhaar, as a KYC, is linked to the IP number of the member and their family. The benefits of Aadhaar KYC seeding include:

• Enhanced transparency in beneficiary identification, ensuring compliance with the disbursal/treatment provisions of the ESIC Act.
• Prevention of incorrect benefits/treatment by the ESIC department.
• Administrative ease for the ESIC department.

Note: Aadhaar updates on the ESIC portal will be authenticated by UIDAI. In case of a mismatch, the Aadhaar will not be seeded.

This new process allows employers to upload Aadhaar details in bulk, compared to the previous practice of individual employee updates. This change is expected to streamline ESIC operations, enabling faster and more accurate processing of medical and cash benefits. ESIC currently provides a range of benefits, including super speciality treatment, medical, sickness, maternity, disablement, dependant, unemployment allowance, old age medical care, vocational training, physical rehabilitation, confinement expenses, and funeral expenses.
