Amendments to the Tamil Nadu Shops & Establishments Rules

The Government of Tamil Nadu, through G.O. Ms. No. 116, dated 29th October 2025, has revised Rule 16-C of the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Rules, 1948.
This rule pertains to the requirement for every employer of Information Technology Software Establishments and Information Technology Software-enabled services to submit a half-yearly self-certification to the Labour Department.
The previous format has been updated with a new version that includes the latest amendments, allowing employers to submit their returns online via the designated portal of the Labour Department.
