Amendment of Chhattisgarh Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules, 1973

The Government of Chhattisgarh, vide notification no. RULE-503/12/2025-LABOUR, dated 11th September 2025, has amended the Chhattisgarh Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules, 1973, by inserting sub-rule (3) after sub-rule (2) of Rule 25. The new provision allows a contractor to employ women workers between 7 PM and 6 AM, subject to certain conditions listed in the notification. However, employment of women by the contractor in any factory or hazardous category work shall be completely prohibited between 7 PM and 6 AM.
The notification also provides the format (Form VI-A) for obtaining written consent from women workers to work between 7 PM and 6 AM.
