Advisory regarding POSH from the National Commission for Women

In a press release dated 19th June 2026, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has called upon all states and Union Territories to promptly and effectively implement comprehensive measures in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act).
This advisory aims to guarantee that every workplace, whether in the government, private, organised, or unorganised sector, adheres strictly to the provisions of the POSH Act, thereby promoting a safe, inclusive, and gender-sensitive working environment for women. The advisory has been directed to the Chief Secretaries and Director Generals of Police in all States and Union Territories. To facilitate enforcement and accountability at the grassroots level, the Commission has also shared the advisory with all District Magistrates, Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), and Commissioners of Police throughout the nation.
