Previously, the Government of Puducherry, through notification no. G.O.Ms.No.10, dated 14th August 2025, had permitted all shops and establishments in the state employing 50 or more individuals to operate around the clock and to employ women during night shifts, contingent upon certain conditions.
Now, by superseding the aforementioned notification, the Government of Puducherry, via notification no. G.O.Ms.No-4, dated 15th March 2026, has granted permission for all shops and establishments in the state (without any employee threshold limit) to operate 24/7 and to employ women during night shift, subject to the specific conditions outlined in the notification.
