Government mandates 50% work from home

The Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi has mandated all government and private organisations in the NCT of Delhi to implement a ‘work from home’ policy for 50% of their workforce, effective 18th December 2025.
These measures are part of a broader initiative introduced by the Delhi Government in reaction to the concerning deterioration of air quality in the Capital since early November.
All private establishments are advised to:
• Implement staggered working hours where feasible.
• Ensure strict compliance with work from home norms.
• Minimise vehicular movement associated with office commute.
Exemptions have been given to hospitals and other public/private health establishments, fire services, prisons, public transport, electricity, water, sanitation and related municipal services, disaster management, among others.
