The Industrial Relation (Bihar) Rules, 2025

Following the enactment of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 (Central), which is set to take effect on 21st November 2025, the Government of Bihar, through a notification dated 5th December 2025, has released a draft on the Industrial Relation (Bihar) Rules, 2025. These Rules, once implemented, will replace the following:
• The Bihar Industrial Disputes Rules, 1961
• The Bihar Industrial Employment (Standing Order) Rules, 1947
• Bihar and Orissa Trade Unions Regulations, 1928
The aforementioned draft notification will be taken into consideration after a period of forty-five days from the date of its publication. Objections and suggestions, if any, may be addressed to the Labour Commissioner or by email lcbihar@bihar.gov.in
