Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules, 2025

The Government of India, on 14th November 2025, has notified the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (DPDP Rules) to operationalize the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), an Act to provide for the processing of digital personal data in a manner that recognises both the right of individuals to protect their personal data and the need to process such personal data for lawful purposes and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. The Rules introduce an eighteen-month period for phased compliance.
