EPFO directs field offices to allow part payments of the PF final settlement

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization, vide circular no. WSU/Claim processing/2025/e-1173371/36, dated 19th September 2025, has directed its field offices to process part payments instead of rejecting the claim completely in certain cases, such as short/non-remittance of contributions by employers for certain periods or non-transfer of the previous PF account/past accumulations, etc.

The EPFO has cited the relevant paragraph of the Manual of Accounting Procedure, which allows processing of such claims for part payment of available accumulations in the member’s account and given this particular direction. The EPFO has also clarified that on receipt of full contributions or transfer-in amounts, further action should be taken to pay the balance to the members expeditiously.
