Aadhaar authentication is not mandatory to avail ESI benefits now

The Ministry of Labour & Employment, vide notification no. S.O.3792(E), dated 19th August 2025, has directed the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) to obtain consent of the beneficiaries for Aadhaar authentication.
As per the notification, Aadhaar authentication shall be voluntary now, and ESIC must accept the following documents as alternate means of identification to provide the benefits.
• Passport
• PAN Card
• Driving license
No benefits shall be denied for refusing to, or being unable to, undergo Aadhaar authentication.
