ESIC launches New Amnesty Scheme for settlement of legal disputes

The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, vide circular no. P-11/14/Amnesty Scheme/2023-Rev.II, dated 24th July 2025, has announced the launch of the New Amnesty Scheme, 2025, for the withdrawal of criminal cases filed against insured persons and employers, and the settlement of cases filed by employers under Sections 75 and 82 of the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948.
The said scheme aims to reduce the number of litigations by providing a mechanism for the resolution of disputes outside the court. The scheme provides the opportunity for the withdrawal of prosecution cases filed u/s 84 and 85 of the ESI Act, and court cases u/s 75 and 82 of the ESI Act and Article 226, up to 31st March 2025, subject to certain terms and condition listed in the circular.
This scheme will be in force from 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2026.
