Conditions for employing women during the night shift in Shops & Commercial Establishments – Rajasthan

The Government of Rajasthan, vide notification no. F.14(11) (1) Labour/Law/2017/Part/00882, dated 4th July 2025, has allowed all shops and commercial establishments in the state to employ women during the night shift, subject to the following conditions:

1. Written consent of women employees to work during the night shift has to be obtained.

2. All women employees shall be issued with an appointment letter and an identity card with a photograph.

3. Employer shall ensure the complete safety of women employees, and safe transportation facilities shall be provided to pick up and drop off such employees at their residence.

4. Separate restrooms and lockers for storing luggage shall be provided for women employees.

5. No pregnant woman shall be called for night work 3 months before her expected delivery date, and 3 months after giving birth to the child.

6. Compliance with Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
