Draft notification on the revision of minimum wages – 110425

The Government of Karnataka has issued a draft notification dated 11th April 2025, proposing to revise the existing minimum wages. The proposed revision represents a substantial increase of 40% to 70% over the existing wages apart from the VDA.

The proposed minimum wages for 62 scheduled employments, including employment in Shops and Commercial establishments in Karnataka, are as follows:

Zone 1: BBMP area and the Bengaluru City district.

Zone 2: Other Metropolitan corporations and all district headquarters of the state, except the BBMP and the Bangalore city district area.

Zone 3: All areas other than those mentioned in Zone 1 and 2.

(The existing 4 zones have been reduced to 3 zones).

Suggestions and objections, if any, will be received from the affected persons (employers, employees, associations) within 2 months of the publication of this draft notification. Objections/suggestions, if any, can be sent to the secretary to the government, Labour Department, 4th Floor, Vikas Soudha, Bengaluru—560001 or the Commissioner, Labour Department, Karmika Bhavana, Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru.
