EPFO simplifies Joint Declaration for personal data corrections of members

Earlier, the EPFO, vide circular dated 31^st July 2024, released version 3.0 of the SOP for submitting a joint declaration for member profile updation in the EPFO portal. AscentHR circulated an alert on the same on 9^th August 2024.

Now, the EPFO, vide circular dated 16^th January 2025, by superseding the above SOP, has introduced further simplification in the process of updating member profiles. Under the revised procedure, the members whose UAN has already been validated through Aadhaar, can update their profile themselves without requiring to upload any document. Members will be able to self-correct personal details on the online portal without any verification by the employer or approval by the EPFO. The facility will be available for members whose UAN was issued prior to 1^st October 2017. These details include name, date of birth, gender, nationality, parent’s name, marital status, spouse name, date of joining and date of leaving. In certain cases where UAN was obtained prior to 1^st October 2017, the updation would require a certification from the employer.
