Chandigarh – Permission to operate 24/7 and employ women employees in night shift

The Government of Chandigarh, vide notification No. 12/2/149-HII(2)/2024/9789, dated 25th June 2024, has permitted all the shops and commercial establishments in Chandigarh to operate 24/7 for a period of one year, subject to certain conditions.
Female employees may be employed during the night shift after obtaining their written consent, and adequate safety and security measures in this regard should be strictly observed as mentioned in the notification.
