adaptability, emotional intelligence and learning speed may matter more than static expertise.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-75372dd8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"75372dd8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"274\" data-end=\"345\">The modern workplace is becoming harder to predict and far less linear.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"347\" data-end=\"717\">Across sectors, HR leaders say employees are navigating a work environment shaped by AI adoption, changing business models, faster execution cycles and rising expectations around flexibility, wellbeing and career growth.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"347\" data-end=\"717\">What makes this shift notable is that companies are no longer discussing transformation as a future possibility. Most believe it is already underway.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"1039\">This\u00a0International HR Day, conversations with CHROs and HR heads across technology, logistics, hospitality, retail and financial services revealed a common pattern emerging inside organisations: employers are increasingly prioritising adaptability, continuous learning and human judgement alongside technical capability.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1296\">\u201cIn today\u2019s environment of constant disruption, empowering people to lead with confidence requires a strong culture of continuous learning, adaptability, and trust,\u201d said\u00a0Richard Lobo, Chief People Officer at\u00a0Tech Mahindra.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1298\" data-end=\"1367\">That pressure to continuously adapt is now visible across industries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1369\" data-end=\"1654\">In fintech, speed and execution are becoming major workforce differentiators.\u00a0Gaurav Sharma, CHRO at\u00a0True Balance, said AI-led transformation is reshaping hiring expectations and increasing demand for employees who demonstrate agility and adaptability.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1656\" data-end=\"1824\">\u201cThe key differentiator here for any company would be speed and execution,\u201d Sharma said. \u201cThe AI skills are becoming more and more important due to speed requirements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1826\" data-end=\"2122\">The logistics sector is witnessing a similar shift. According to\u00a0Beena Mathen Jacob, CHRO at\u00a0Blue Dart, organisations are looking for professionals who are \u201cadaptable, digitally confident, and capable of navigating increasingly technology-driven environments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2124\" data-end=\"2210\">But companies are also recognising that employee expectations themselves are changing.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2212\" data-end=\"2461\">Jacob noted that workers increasingly want \u201cmeaningful growth, continuous learning, and a stronger sense of wellbeing and purpose at work,\u201d adding that upskilling and reskilling are becoming business priorities rather than standalone HR initiatives.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1rvyeo9\" data-start=\"2463\" data-end=\"2515\">Human skills are becoming more valuable, not less<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2517\" data-end=\"2701\">While AI continues to dominate workplace conversations, many HR leaders stressed that automation is increasing the importance of human capabilities rather than replacing them entirely.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2703\" data-end=\"2961\">\u201cThe conversation around AI in the workplace often focuses on automation and productivity, but the more meaningful shift is happening at a human level,\u201d said\u00a0Chandrashekar, Regional Director \u2013 People &amp; Talent at\u00a0Harness.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2963\" data-end=\"3194\">He added that employees now expect \u201cclarity, trust, and opportunities to grow alongside these new systems,\u201d while organisations that succeed will be those that treat AI \u201cas a capability enhancer rather than a replacement strategy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3196\" data-end=\"3341\">That balance between digital fluency and human understanding is becoming especially important in sectors serving regional and semi-urban markets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3343\" data-end=\"3493\">At\u00a0Saarathi Finance, Head of Human Resources\u00a0Sangita Majumdar\u00a0described hiring for what she called \u201cground intelligence\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3495\" data-end=\"3688\">\u201cWe are hiring for what I call &#8216;ground intelligence&#8217;: an understanding of informal income patterns, local trust dynamics, and semi-urban business cycles. No MBA program teaches that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3690\" data-end=\"3860\">Majumdar added that while AI is changing lending operations \u201cfrom underwriting to onboarding\u201d, the company still views technology as \u201ca support layer, not a replacement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3862\" data-end=\"3922\">\u201cThe human still has to walk in through the door,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3924\" data-end=\"4017\">That emphasis on human-centric leadership surfaced repeatedly across conversations this year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4019\" data-end=\"4250\">\u201cThe ability to lead with compassion, listen with patience, and create spaces where people feel valued has become more important than ever,\u201d said\u00a0Saurabh Mangrulkar, Founder and CEO of\u00a0Beep App.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"jpg4du\" data-start=\"4252\" data-end=\"4298\">Companies are rethinking workforce strategy<\/h3>\n<div>Beyond hiring priorities, organisations are also reworking how they build and retain talent ecosystems.<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"4405\" data-end=\"4577\">In retail, employers are placing greater emphasis on emotional intelligence, customer-first thinking and adaptability as automation becomes more integrated into operations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4579\" data-end=\"4825\">According to\u00a0Chetana Parashar, Head \u2013 HR at\u00a07-Eleven Global Solution Center, organisations are increasingly looking beyond traditional skill sets while investing more heavily in inclusive leadership and continuous learning cultures.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4827\" data-end=\"4928\">Hospitality companies are also reshaping workforce strategies as expansion moves beyond major cities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4930\" data-end=\"5087\">\u201cPeople have always remained at the heart of the hospitality industry,\u201d said\u00a0Dhinakaran K, Associate VP, HR at\u00a0Tamara Leisure Experiences.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5089\" data-end=\"5389\">He pointed to growing investment in local talent ecosystems, regional hiring and structured learning initiatives. Nearly 50% of the company\u2019s workforce is hired locally across its portfolio, alongside programmes focused on internal mobility, wellness initiatives and women returning to the workforce.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5391\" data-end=\"5448\">Meanwhile, leaders across sectors repeatedly highlighted:<br \/>\u2022 continuous learning<br \/>\u2022 cross-functional collaboration<br \/>\u2022 digital capability<br \/>\u2022 adaptability<br \/>\u2022 leadership resilience<\/p>\n<div>as skills becoming increasingly critical inside modern workplaces.<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"5633\" data-end=\"5892\">At\u00a0Aptech Limited, Chief Human Resources Officer\u00a0Shourya K. Chakravarty\u00a0said organisations that combine \u201ctechnology with adaptability, continuous learning, and human capability\u201d will shape the next phase of workplace innovation.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1vvplj4\" data-start=\"5894\" data-end=\"5946\">Workplace expectations are shifting on both sides<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"5948\" data-end=\"6019\">The broader shift emerging from HR leaders is not simply technological.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6021\" data-end=\"6153\">Companies are redefining employability. Employees are redefining what they expect from employers.
