The Labour Commissioner, Union Territory, Chandigarh, has revised the minimum rates of wages for the period from 1st April 2026 to 30th September 2026 based on the half-yearly Cost of Living Index Numbers released by the Labour Bureau, Chandigarh. The average Cost of Living Index increased from 2245 points to 2270 points, reflecting a rise of 25 points over the previous period ending September 2025. Accordingly, the minimum wage for monthly-rated employees has been increased by INR 175 per month, with corresponding revisions to daily wage rates across all categories of workers.
The revised rates are applicable from 1st April 2026 to 30th September 2026.
