no.\u00a0<b><i>EEC\/2025\/E-1 190921\/4278204<\/i><\/b>, dated 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0July 2026, has released detailed information regarding the implementation of the Employees\u2019 Enrolment Campaign, 2026, as notified under the Employees\u2019 Provident Funds Scheme, 2026. This program aims to incorporate a significant number of employees into the organised social security framework via the EPFO. The objective of this Scheme is to provide a special window for employers to voluntarily enrol eligible employees who were left out of the EPF coverage, and to regularise their past compliance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Duration of the Scheme:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The Scheme will be in effect from 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0July 2026 to 31<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0October 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Eligible employees:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Employers are permitted to enrol all current employees who joined the establishment between 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0April 2009 and 31<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0March 2026, and who are alive and working in the concerned establishment at the time of the declaration, but were not enrolled in the EPF Scheme for any reason.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Contributions to be made:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The employees\u2019 share of contributions for the past period (1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0April 2009 to 31<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0March 2026) will be waived if it has not been deducted from the wages of respective employees. The employer is only obligated to pay their own share of the contribution for that period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Applicable Damages:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Employers utilising this scheme will be required to pay a nominal penal damage of Rs. 100\/- only as a one-time payment, which is a considerable reduction from the usual penalties for non-compliance. Nevertheless, interest on the employer\u2019s share and prescribed administrative charges will still apply.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Online declaration:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The Employers are required to make the declaration through an online platform provided by the EPFO, where they must specify the details of the enrolled employees and link it to the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (Temporary Return Reference Number) through which payment of contributions has been processed and pay a lump-sum penal damages of one hundred rupees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The submission of multiple undertakings or declarations is allowed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The employer intending to avail the benefit of this Campaign shall, at the first instance, ensure to create a Universal Account Number authenticated with Face Authentication Technology through the UMANG Application for each of the eligible employees being declared and make payment of their contribution through an Electronic Challan-cum-Return.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">From the date of declaration under this Campaign, the employer is required to consistently adhere to the provisions of the Code. Furthermore, the EPFO has confirmed that no actions will be taken against employers who utilise this benefit concerning employees who have already departed from the organisation as of the date of
